We begin this unique hike at the oldest Canarian pine tree in the world and its sanctuary Virgen del Pino (Virgin of the Pine). We first take a leisurely walk south through flowering fields on the edge of the cloud waterfall and can feast on chestnuts along the way (depending on the season and weather conditions).
Now we dive into the mystical laurel forest full of lichens, mosses, mushrooms and archways made of tree heather. You feel like dwarves in the jungle here. The path climbs steadily and the views become more and more magnificent.
The crowning conclusion awaits us at the highest point of our tour, where we see the new volcano of the Cumbre Vieja of La Palma “Tajogaite” and its extensive lava field including ash landscape from a bird’s eye view directly below us. There will also be a small culinary gourmet surprise before we take the taxi back to the starting point of the hike.
